About This Project

Cool Contemporary

To transform the 1950’s Main bathroom into the 21st century, with contemporary fixtures & fittings with a splash of colour.  The clients were after a larger shower, better use of storage space and updated bathware and tiles that were easy cleaning.

New PVC underfloor plumbing was installed to bring the plumbing in compliance with building code standards and the basin location was relocated to give the clients a better use of space.

A wall was built out to conceal a cavity sliding door and recess a mirror cabinet. The new wall also allowed custom vanity unit to run wall to wall, maximising the full potential of the space.   The cabinetry was in Polytec classic white sheen finish with integrated pull handles.  A Hettich wing line door was used to allow better access to the cupboard in front of the bath.   The vanity benchtop was in 20mm Caesarstone Shitake, this was selected to complement the warm taupe colour in the floor tile and other tones throughout the house.  The tiles were from Beaumont Tiles and Bath/tapware from Routleys plumbing.  A frameless glass panel installed to the end of the bath hob created a large open shower for the client.

Laundry & WC

A new fit out to bring the laundry & WC update, with contemporary fittings and fun/stylish tiles.

The clients wished for better use of storage and more bench space in the laundry so well thought-out custom cabinetry was design to cater for their needs.  The benchtop was in Laminex Quicksand natural finish and the cabinetry in Polytec classic white sheen finish with integrated pull handles.

The clients didn’t have a hand basin in the toilet and disliked having to walk around to the laundry or kitchen to be able to wash hands.  The Caroma toilet with integrated hand basin was a great solution, which avoided the expense of any additional plumbing.  The unique cistern design incorporates an integrated dual-flush push button and spout combination designed to lower water usage.   The toilet saves water by allowing the same water to be used for two purposes. Fresh water is first used for hand washing and then flows into the cistern to flush the toilet.

The Result

The overall bathroom space became more spacious and open, with clever use of the new stud wall concealing the door, custom vanity and open shower. A stunning new space with a fun colour palette suited the clients wishes The laundry & WC were brought to life with the selection of tiles, cleaver use of cabinetry and contemporary fittings. The functionality and style of the spaces catered to the clients wishes.
