The original cramped, dated and dark bathroom was given a much-needed update, which started with knocking out the wall between the bathroom and study to create one larger, more user-friendly space. Part of the reason for this was that the clients really wanted to include a separate bath and shower. In keeping with the older style of the home, the Victoria + Albert York freestanding bath has become the focal point of the room. The vanity design looks more like a piece of traditional furniture than a vanity, topped with luxurious marble. Marble tiles were also used for the flooring, to add a real sense of luxury and timeless elegance. A lot of detail went into the wall tiling with a combination of portrait-laid dove grey tiles running along the base of the walls, finished with a border of white capping tiles and gloss subway tiles all the way to the ceiling. The combination of the gloss tiles with the large wall mirror and decorative vanity mirror helps reflect space and light in the room.
