WHITE WONDERLAND HOME RENOVATION

This home renovation completely transformed a classic bungalow into a refreshing and modern white wonderland. The owners of this 1920s bungalow really wanted to lighten the heavy, gaudy wooden features throughout the house. It was important to introduce more light into the Kitchen, Main Bathroom & Ensuite.

KITCHEN

Removing the slate flooring, although an expensive and arduous job, was the first and most important step of this renovation. Doing so made way for large format Brera Bianco Rectified Glazed Porcelain tiles throughout. A kitchen island replaced the heavy, timber U shaped kitchen, creating better flow and amplifying workspace. As a result, the island also creates a social centre point for the open living and dining rooms. A Tavella Gesso Gloss subway tile splashback gives a nod to the heritage of the home. Most noteworthy, Dulux vivid white shaker profile doors were complemented with stunning Castella Belgrave 160 handles. Finally a 40mm Quantum Quartz Square Edge Statuario Quartz benchtop was installed throughout the kitchen and over the island. Finally, a coat of paint over the original architraves and windows brings them to new life. The ample use of white in this space opens the room significantly!

ENSUITE & MAIN BATHROOM

The designer maintained similarities in style between the ensuite and main bathroom. Maintaining the same coloring and tile selections created consistency throughout the home. White and slate grey tones replaced small tessellated heritage tiles and traditional colour tones. While a Herringbone Snow Marble Mosaic features in both rooms shower niches as a feature. Bastow Georgian Lever traditional tapware is used throughout both rooms to subtly hint at the traditional heritage of the home.
