2013
Brilliant SA undertook the complete renovation of a kitchen, ensuite, main bathroom, laundry and powder room to create a national award winner in design. The clients’ 13-year-old Flagstaff Hill home was in need of a new lease on life.
Multiple rooms were redesigned to suit the vision of the owners and the Designer Steve Mahlo. While altering these spaces to incorporate design features, it was also essential to provide the utmost live-ability for the owners. Importantly, the clients wanted to achieve a seamless, modern look that would remain ageless throughout the years. However, perhaps the strongest driving factor of the renovation was the clients desire to seek energy-efficient options and incorporate smart storage solutions.
In the main ensuite, a bulky spa bath was replaced with an elegant, freestanding bath and floor mounted spout. Overlooking the stunning natural greens of the suburb, the bath seems like the feature of this bathroom. However, the truly enormous and luxurious walk in frameless shower is the clients favored space. And it isn’t hard to see why! Generous recessed niches also provide much needed storage for everyday essentials. In addition, recessed mirrored shaving cabinets above the generous his and hers vanities provide additional storage.
“This exceptional renovation and extension was a delight to inspect. The choice of materials and the resultant high quality of finishes exudes opulence. The builder’s attention to protection and care during the build received extremely high praise from the owners, as did all facets of the project including design, costing, constructions and administration.”
As a result, this renovation is a true success, not only through industry awards but also and most importantly with the clients. Careful consideration was implemented in design to incorporate energy efficiency, smart storage and fresh finishes that would remain timeless.
