Modern Farmhouse Kitchen Renovation in Mitcham

The Brilliant SA team transformed the kitchen of this 1970s unit in Mitcham into a warm and inviting modern farmhouse space. The original layout felt closed in and lacked functionality, so we reimagined the floorplan to better connect the kitchen and living areas. By removing a wall and opening up the space, we improved the flow of the home and increased the size of the kitchen by approximately one-third, creating room for a dedicated pantry and full-size fridge.

Modern Farmhouse Style

The new design balances character and practicality. Bespoke Laminex Green Slate cabinetry brings depth and personality to the space, while black Castella handles, white engineered stone benchtops, a white gloss subway tile splashback, and chrome fixtures create a timeless farmhouse aesthetic. A generous breakfast bar now forms the heart of the kitchen, providing the perfect spot for casual meals, morning coffee, or catching up with family and friends. Premium Smeg and Bosch appliances in stainless steel and black complete the space, combining style with everyday performance.

To tie the renovation together, we replaced the original tiled flooring with engineered timber in a Spotted Gum finish, adding warmth and texture throughout the living area. The result is a kitchen that feels brighter, larger, and far more connected to the way the homeowners live. They are delighted with the transformation and particularly appreciative of their Site Supervisor’s attention to detail, which helped ensure every element was delivered to the highest standard.
