Lobethal Bathroom & Laundry Renovation
Our clients are a busy professional couple living in the serene hills of Lobethal. They’ve long desired a tranquil retreat within their home and engaged us to transform a simple space into a sanctuary where long, soothing baths could melt away the stresses of the day.
In addition to the bathroom, they wanted to revamp the laundry and sought an efficient room that would maximise storage, and keep things organised. They had a specific request involving the family pet; to create a discreet cat’s litter box area inside the laundry that was out of the way but still convenient to access for their furry companion.
Creating a Tranquil Bathroom Retreat
Our team began the renovation by reconfiguring the space, expertly shifting the wall that once divided the old WC and basic laundry areas. This strategic change unlocked more square footage, allowing us to create a fully equipped bathroom complete with a generous freestanding bath—a focal point that was particularly important for our clients. At the same time, the laundry area was redesigned to be both practical and stylish, with plumbing neatly tucked into one efficient corner, accommodating the washing machine and dryer.
The decision to raise the floor to a uniform height further enhanced the sense of cohesion across the newly configured space, seamlessly blending the bathroom and laundry rooms. To unify both spaces, we used Riviera Beige tiles for the bathroom and laundry floors, complemented by White Mosaic tiles for the bathroom walls and laundry splashback, creating a cohesive and elegant look. Without a doubt, the feature tiles and curved glass bring in mid-century vibes, while an arch mirror with a gold trim echoes the elegance of the past, perfectly matching the brushed brass taps.
Seamless Integration of Bathroom and Laundry Spaces
Design was at the heart of this transformation, with every element carefully selected to reflect both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The renovated bathroom features a Waverley Vanity in prime oak which provides practical storage and brings warmth and a natural touch to the space while echoing the timber accents found throughout the home. In addition, modern features were introduced, including a frameless shower screen, underfloor heating, and a heat lamp, all contributing to the bathroom’s luxurious feel. Similarly, we selected brushed brass fixings that added a touch of opulence, ensuring that every detail was in harmony with the overall design.
The impact of our renovation on the clients’ daily lives has been profound. The creation of a larger, tranquil bathroom has provided them with a personal sanctuary, a place to unwind and enjoy the quietude of hills living. The carefully selected Freestanding Bath has become a cherished feature, fulfilling the client’s long-held desire.
In the end, this renovation project was a resounding success. The efficient design of the laundry, with its clever use of space, has improved functionality, while the discreet placement of the cat litter box ensures a clean and organised home environment.
